Call for Participation: Hands-On Manuscript Writing Workshop for Nurses and Midwives in Uganda

The Global Research Nurses (GRN) and The Global Health Network (TGHN), with support from the Burdett Trust for Nursing, are pleased to invite nurses and midwives in Uganda to apply for a one-day hands-on workshop titled Turning Research into Publications: Hands-On Manuscript Writing Workshop for Nurses and Midwives in Uganda.

This workshop aims to strengthen the capacity of nurses and midwives in scientific writing and publication, equipping participants with practical skills to transform research findings into high-quality manuscripts.

Workshop Details

  • Date: 15th November 2025
  • Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Kampala Time)
  • Venue: Forest Cottages, Kampala
  • Language: English
  • Target Audience: Nurses and midwives from research institutions, training institutions, Master’s and PhD programs, and those in leadership or managerial roles.
  • Cost: Free of charge
  • Certificate: Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the manuscript development and publication process.
  • Identify the structure and components of a scientific manuscript.
  • Apply principles of clear, concise academic writing.
  • Draft key sections of a manuscript.
  • Recognize and avoid common errors in writing.
  • Navigate the submission and peer-review process.
  • Strengthen collaboration and authorship practices.
