Olivia Kituuka is a general surgeon and lecturer with Makerere University College of Health Sciences in Mulago, Kampala Uganda since 2009. She works at the upper GI unit of Mulago Hospital and is specialized in gastric and hepatic pancreatic and biliary surgery. She also specializes in minimal access surgery and both diagnostic and interventional endoscopy. She is currently a PhD fellow with Makerere Fogarty Bioethics Fellowship program studying informed consent processes in emergency surgery. She has held positions of leadership including Acting Academic Head of the Department of Surgery, and is a past President of the Association of Surgeons of Uganda (ASOU). She helped set up the Surgical skills lab in the Dean's Building of the Makerere University College of Health Sciences. She is married with 4 children.
