Noah is an Assistant Lecturer in the Industrial Pharmacy and Pharmaceutics unit at the Pharmacy Department. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Mbarara University of Science and Technology and a Master of Science in Biotechnology Innovation and Regulatory Science from Purdue University-Indiana, USA, and he is currently pursuing a PhD at the same University.
Dr Mutebi previously worked as Production Officer with Quality Chemicals Industries Limited-Uganda a leading manufacturer of Malaria and HIV drugs in East and Central Africa, and as an Inspector of Drugs at the Uganda National Drug Authority. Noah joined the Makerere-Pharmacy Department in July 2022. He merges his previous experience in Drug Manufacturing and Regulation to offer practical teaching to both undergraduate and graduate students in the field of drug formulation/dosage form designs, Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Assurance, and Drug Regulation. His love for Safe, Quality, and Efficacious medicines makes him a fervent advocate for improvement of pharmacist training for Industrial Pharmacy Practice roles. Noah believes that Africans should build a competent workforce in the area of industrial pharmacy and stop relying almost entirely on foreign experts. The in-house experts shall stimulate local production of quality medicines and reduce dependency on importation.
Noah’s current research interest is to identify and implement training approaches that improve pharmacists’ competencies in industrial pharmacy practice career paths.
