Henry Kyeyune is an assistant lecturer at the Department of Pharmacy, School of Health Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and Master of Science in Pharmacognosy from Makerere University. He teaches pharmacognosy, specialising in natural product chemistry, and pharmaceutical chemistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Henry is a registered pharmacist and an active member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda. He is also a member of the NTU alumni and industry fellows at Nottingham Trent University. Henry is interested in research in traditional approaches to health and wellness, development and standardisation of traditional remedies and natural product chemistry. During his master’s program, Henry focused on the clinical practices of traditional herbal medicine practitioners, specifically looking at disease diagnosis, patient monitoring and referral systems.
Henry won three research grants as PI or co-PI from the Makerere University Research and Innovations Fund (MakRIF) funded by the Government of Uganda. Henry has supervised several undergraduate students and three postgraduate students' research to completion. He is also the coordinator for undergraduate research at the Department of Pharmacy of Makerere University.
