Dr Flaviah Namiiro, Honorary Lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics. Area of interest is newborn health extending to cover the continuum of care from preconception, pregnancy, delivery, neonatal and early childhood. Clinical care, teaching, support supervision, research, prevention of common childhood illnesses, community engagement and advocacy are some activities she is involved in. Some Areas of research (ongoing) 1. Prematurity, early and longterm survival at facilty and after hospital discharge. 2. Neonatal resuscitation. 3. Neonatal sepsis. 4. Antenatal care practices that enhance better neonatal outcome. Collaborative involvement at locall and international level with the Uganda Paediatrics Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, Rotary International, among others.
