Dr. Anita Arinda (MB. Ch. B, MMed Psych) is an assistant lecturer and psychiatrist at the Department of Psychiatry, Makerere University College of Health Sciences, Kampala, Uganda. Her primary research interests focus on child and adolescent mental health. Dr. Arinda is involved in training both undergraduate and postgraduate students in psychiatry. Additionally, she conducts psychiatry clinics for adults and children at Mulago Hospital.

Dr. Arinda has been awarded numerous research training fellowships, including the Global Initiative for Neuropsychiatric Genetics Education in Research (GINGER) from 2020 to 2024, the Child Mental Health in HIV-Impacted Low-Resource Settings in Developing Countries-Global Research Fellowship (CHILD-GRF) from 2020 to 2022, and the Brain Health Program, focusing on research training and mentorship to enhance brain health across the lifespan in Uganda, from 2023 to 2025.

She is actively involved in professional associations, serving as the treasurer of the Uganda Association of Psychiatrists. Dr. Arinda is also a member of the Uganda Medical Association, the African Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health, the International Society of Psychiatric Genetics and the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and Allied Professionals.
