Adoke Yeka

Dr. Adoke Yeka is currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health, School of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University-Kampala. He trained as a Medical Doctor (MBChB) from Makerere University, Uganda in 1994. He later did his Master of Public Health (MPH) at Makerere University School of Public Health in 2001. He is currently pursuing his PhD, at the university of Antwerp, Belgium. His research focus is on Malaria drug resistance and control. Read more about Adoke Yeka

Henry Wamani

MBChB MPhil PhD is Lecturer, Department of Community Health and Behavioural Sciences and Academic Coordinator, Master of Public Health Nutrition at the School of Public Health, Makerere University College of Health Science, Kampala. Henry trained as a Medical Doctor (MBChB) from Makerere University, Uganda in 1993. He later did Master of Philosophy in Health Sciences (Public Health Nutrition), 2003 and PhD (Nutrition Epidemiology and Health Inequities), 2005 at the University of Bergen, Norway. Associate Professor William Bazeyo, Dean MakSPH Tobacco Control Resource Centre in Africa

The School of Public Health under Makerere University College of Health Sciences has been selected by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to host the Africa Tobacco Control Resource Centre. This follows the launch of the Africa Tobacco Control Project by WHO, with the financial support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The project will work with countries in Sub-Saharan Africa to build capacity for tobacco control. Associate Professor William Bazeyo, Dean School of Public Health explains the work of the tobacco centre and the magnitude of the impact of tobacco use in Africa.
