Richard Muhindo

Dr. Richard Muhindo is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Nursing and Dean Makerere University School of Health Sciences. He holds degrees, BSN, PhD with bias in Public Health from Makerere University, and MPH from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Prior to joining Makerere University, Dr. Muhindo was the Program coordinator for two national NGOs – the AIDS Information Centre and Reproductive Health, Uganda, implementing Reproductive health projects including STI/HIV projects for key populations and adolescents. His research interests are diverse, but his key publications include understanding barriers and strategies for scaling-up sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV prevention interventions among key populations (sex workers), contraceptive and family planning services for adolescents and under-served residents of mountainous areas, maternal health, health systems data, vaccine uptake in the adult population, and health professions education.
