Dan Namuguzi

Dan Namuguzi is a Urologist and lecturer in the College of Health Sciences Makerere University with over 12 years of experience in the surgical field and teaching. He has done research mainly in the field of Circumcision for HIV prevention with Uganda Virus Research Institute under Rakai Health Sciences Program and Makerere University Walter Reed Program, a field in which he has publications. He is now involved in the establishment of a real patient database for the urology unit in the department of surgery and in the supervision of graduate students’ research. He is a member of professional bodies like the Association of Surgeons of Uganda and the College of East, Central and Southern Africa. He graduated from Makerere University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and a Masters of Medicine in Surgery (M.med). He is a fellow of the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA), a founding member of Platinum Hospital Kampala and a primary surgeon for Humanity Direct Uganda; a humanitarian organization whose aims include reduction of surgical disease burden in children in Uganda.
