Winnie Kibone is a Ugandan medical doctor who obtained her first degree from Makerere University, Uganda. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Global Health at the University of Bergen. Her professional interests lie in the intersection between infectious and non-communicable diseases, particularly in low-resource settings experiencing a growing burden of NCDs.
Through the partnership between Makerere University and the University of Bergen, she was awarded the opportunity to undertake training in Global Health at the University of Bergen in August 2025. Her master’s research focuses on assessing continuing medical education needs of clinicians providing integrated HIV, TB, and NCD care in Uganda. She intends to use the findings to inform targeted training curricula and capacity-building strategies for frontline healthcare workers.
She is passionate about improving population health beyond hospital-based care through research, strengthening healthcare systems, and healthcare workforce development. Through her work, she hopes to contribute to more equitable and accessible healthcare in Uganda and beyond.
