Eddy Kyagulanyi is a Ugandan biomedical scientist and medical doctor, having obtained both his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. He is interested in research and academia, especially in the fields of infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, equity in healthcare, and medical education.
Through the partnership between Makerere University and the University of Bergen, Eddy was awarded the opportunity to pursue a master’s training in Global Health at the University of Bergen, which he commenced in August 2025. His master’s project is focused on the integration of ethical, regulated, and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Ugandan undergraduate medical training curricula. This will hopefully ensure that AI is used by students and staff in a regulated manner without further compromise to their ethics and professionalism.
He has a zeal for implementing impactful research projects that not only identify and fill the knowledge gap, but also contribute to a fragment of change by presenting feasible and sustainable solutions that can be adopted in various contexts.
