UPTODATE TRAINING FOR FACULTY AND STUDENTS

The Department of Global Health and Social Medicine, Harvard Medical School has provided MakCHS with free access to the UpToDate database. The department will send representatives to conduct a preliminary training on the how the tool works, and share more information about it.

This is to invite all Faculty, students and researchers to come and attend a 1-hour training on the 14th August 2019 from 1-2PM. The venue will be the Computer Lab in Albert Cook Library. Students will attend on 15th and 16th August, same time, same venue.

Through the Better Evidence Program, all medical students and faculty can now access UpToDateⓇ, a clinical decision support tool authored by 6,900 world-renowned physicians who synthesize the most recent medical information into trusted, evidence-based recommendations accessible via the web or download, on a computer or a smartphone.

What: UpToDate is a clinical decision support tool authored by 6,900 world-renowned physicians who synthesize the most recent medical information into trusted, evidence-based recommendations that Makerere university is able to offer for free thanks to a partnership with Harvard’s Better Evidence program

Where: Attend the UpToDate training on 14 th August between 1PM and 2PM to learn more about using this tool. Venue: Sir Albert Cook Library computer Lab

Why: UpToDate provides clinical information and actionable recommendations that can be used in the moment of care to improve patient outcomes
