MUSPH is currently running the following undergraduate programs:
1. The Bachelor of Environmental Health Sciences (BEHS)
This is a three year full time course with the major aim of preparing professionals in Environmental Health with appropriate attitude, adequate skills and scientific knowledge for handling and managing all duties and technical procedures in the broad areas of health promotion, disease prevention and control, management and administration of public health in community, research and training in the field of Environmental Health.
The program is open to Ugandans and Non-Ugandans who fulfil the admission requirements. Admission to the program is through any of the following avenues:
- Direct Entry Scheme
- Mature age Entry Scheme
- Diploma Holders Entry Scheme
The entry point for admission to other years through transfer from other programs or Universities is determined by the MUSPH board.
Direct Entry Scheme
For this scheme, an applicant must obtain any two advanced level principal passes in Biology and Chemistry at the same sitting of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education examination or its equivalent.
Mature Age Entry Scheme
Admission through this scheme is possible after one has passed two special mature age University examinations in aptitude and specialised knowledge.
Diploma Holders entry Scheme
One may be admitted to the program if he/she holds a Diploma in Environmental Health (or in any other environmental related course) of Makerere University or from any recognised University/Institution. 2. Certificate in Health Services Management
In addition to the BEHS, the school is running a (how long?) certificate course in Health Services Management, coordinated by the Department of Health Policy, Planning and Management. This is a distance learning course for health managers. The aim of the course is to acquire essential skills for career and organisational development.
