3. Masters in Public Health Nutrition
This training program is in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other partners after realization that there was a shortage of the number of trained nutritionists and nutrition-related professionals. This is despite the fact that malnutrition is common in low income countries, including Uganda, and it carries devastating effects on health and general socio-economic development. The program admits people from medical and biological science degree backgrounds. It is expected that graduates of the Masters in Public Health Nutrition program, which admitted its first batch of students this academic year (2009-2010) will be resourceful in the management of nutrition programs, working hand in hand with health workers.
