Duration of Program : 3 years
With this program You will typically have examined the function, process and application of biomedical research with four compulsory modules and two optional modules plus a research project . You will have worked on some or all of the following areas: Integrated Pathology , Scientific Methods (the philosophical and ethical basis of bioscientific research, the processes of experimental design, practical skills in the application of scientific inquiry, critical awareness of experimental validity and how to measure this using statistical methods), Molecular Medicine in which you will have looked closely at the molecular basis of disease, the clinical management of selected disorders, the current and emerging diagnostic, prognostic techniques and an appreciation of novel therapeutics.Further disciplines include:molecular medicine,bio-materials and drug delivery,molecular design,pharmacology,neuro-oncology,oncology,nutrition and sports science.
Applicants must have an M.B,Ch.B, degree or its equivalent with the Uganda medical council and at least two years clinical experience after full registration, preferably upcountry and may be holders of postgraduate diploma in anaesthesia.
