The Deputy Principal, Isaac Okullo

Dr. Isaac Okullo is currently the Deputy Principal, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University. Previous positions held include Deputy Dean and Dean, School of Health Sciences, Makerere University. In his 23 years of service at the University, Dr. Okullo has gone through the ranks to the current level of Senior Lecturer. Over the years, Dr. Okullo has built tremendous experience working in dental and health training and research. He is well-versed in health behavior as well as epidemiologic research methods earning him a specialty in Public Health. Dr. Okullo has a wealth of teaching experience in the fields of Dentistry, Public health and management sciences. He has worked as a dental Surgeon in a clinical setting, as well as hospital setting where he worked in a Regional Referral hospital as Dental Surgeon in the Uganda health system. Dr. Okullo has expertise in research about oral health care and service, Community based health professional training, HIV and TB investigations in Uganda. Dr. Okullo has led multi-disciplinary teams to several international vocational training programmes under Rotary International arrangements that have had impact in the capacity building in cardiac and dental care in Uganda. Dr. Okullo has also led a number of organisations both locally and internationally. He was President of the International Association for Dental Research East African Division and Uganda Dental Association for a number of years. He has worked closely with health sector ministry, agencies and health organisations by providing consultancy services. He has provided technical services to WHO, USAID and the Rotary International.
