Rose Chalo Nabirye is a Senior Lecturer and Chair of the Department of Nursing and currently Acting Dean, School of Health Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University Kampala. Dr Nabirye is, a Registered Nurse/Midwife with an Advanced Diploma in Health Services Management from Uganda Management Institute, BSN and a Masters of Public Health (MPH) from Makerere University and a PhD (Nursing- Promoting, Protecting and Restoring Health) from University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) USA.
Before joining academia in 2003, Dr Nabirye worked as a clinical Nurse/Midwife for over 20 years. In addition to teaching at the University, Dr Nabirye has engaged herself in Community work through assignments on project work and consultancy services for various Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). As a Lecturer for Community Health Nursing, Management and Research and engagements with NGOs, Dr Nabirye has gained a lot of experience in Research and Community work.
Dr NabiryeÔÇÖs research interest area is Health Systems, Human Resources for Health Management and Community Health.
