Applications are invited for a new programme for low and mid-level faculty (up to Senior Lecturer level) who are interested and committed to becoming independent researchers especially in Clinical and Basic Sciences at MakCHS. They should be willing to undertake rigorous research training (from research question identification and hypothesis generation through research implementation to knowledge translation).
Successful applicants will develop their potential to become researchers within a structured and mentored training environment programme with a focus on research training in the following thematic areas:
i) HIV/AIDS and its associated co-infections/morbidities
ii) Other infectious diseases including malaria
iii) Non communicable diseases (especially cardiovascular, neurological respiratory and haematological/blood)
iv) Dental and craniofacial health
The training is for a period of up to 2 years but is not intended to lead to a degree award. However Masters and PhD candidates who are not funded for an aspect of their research may qualify for support.
