Call for Applications: Faculty Research Training under the HEPI Program

Applications are invited from faculty at Makerere University College of Health Sciences to undertake training in research. Limited research funding will be available for research focusing on community-based clinical, operational, education, epidemiological or biomedical research in communicable diseases (e.g. HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, etc.) or non-communicable diseases of importance to Uganda. Priority will be given to faculty with limited research skills with a goal of addressing barriers to research productivity at the college. Call for Applications: Undergraduate Research Training/Mentorship under the HEPI Program

Applications are invited from undergraduate students interested in conducting research and learning the research process. The selected applicants will undergo a brief didactic training in research that will culminate in research projects of 2-6 months duration. Research projects shall be conducted in multidisciplinary teams with support of a mentor. Students shall formulate their own research teams and identify a suitable mentor who will oversee the research process. MakCHS is part of the African Higher Education Leadership in Advancing Inclusive Innovation for Development

The AHEAD project (African Higher Education Leadership in Advancing Inclusive Innovation for Development) is a three-year Capacity Building project, that started in October 15, 2017 and will end on October 14, 2020. The project seeks to initiate a long-term partnership to mobilize European Union expertise in support of building capacities of Kenyan, Tanzanian and Ugandan universities to lead and manage innovation that best fits their countries’ inclusive and sustainable development needs.
