You are kindly invited to attend the Day of Lung Science session scheduled for Tuesday 18th June 2019, 3:00pm in the College Conference Room, Level 2, Clinical Research Building. Below are the presentation details;
Topic: Digital Technology Monitoring of Adherence to Tuberculosis Treatment Among Patients in Uganda: A Pilot Feasibility Study
Non-adherence to prescribed treatment remains an obstacle to TB control worldwide. Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) is the standard of care for ensuring adherence, however its implementation remains difficult in resource-limited settings. Mobile technologies have the potential to revolutionize delivery of patient care. Video Directly Observed Therapy (VDOT) was conditionally recommended by the World Health Organization as an alternative to DOT but evidence of feasibility is limited in African settings. This presentation will highlight successful use of VDOT in urban Uganda.
