Summary of Presentation

The Uganda Tuberculosis Implementation Research Consortium (U-TIRC) in partnership with the Uganda National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Programme has been conducting research to improve the quality of TB diagnostic evaluation in Uganda. The presentation will highlight gaps in the cascade of care for patients undergoing tuberculosis diagnostic evaluation at health centers in Uganda that refer sputum samples to Xpert MTB/RIF testing hubs, health system- and patient-level factors that contribute to the gaps, and strategies to close the gaps and thereby improve the quality of care.
