Makerere University College of Health Sciences (MakCHS), formerly the School of Medicine, is celebrating 100 years (1924 - 2024) of health professionals' education and training. The theme of the celebrations is ‘Celebrating a Century of Excellence, Shaping the Future'.

An Alumni Dinner is scheduled to take place on March 06, 2026, at Hotel Africana (Nile Hall) - Kampala. The dinner also marks the launch of a fundraiser to support the Renovation of Infrastructure at MakCHS, Mulago Hill. Come and make merry with your friends, classmates, and colleagues. Multiple activities have been held, including: a Public Lecture by Prof. D’Arbela and Prof. Opoka on the History of the College in October 2024, which marked the launch of the celebrations; a Public Dialogue themed 'The current state and future of Health Professions' training in Uganda, held in July 2025; MakCHS Centennial Run in October 2025.
