Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga launching the CTCA

The Speaker of the National Parliament of Uganda, The Right Honourable Rebecca Kadaga, on November 1st 2011 launched the Center for Tobacco Control in Africa (CTCA). The centre is hosted by Makerere University College of Health Sciences School of Public Health, working in partnership with Uganda Health Communication Alliance, Uganda National Association for Community and Occupational Health with technical support from the World Health Organisation. It is a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded initiative whose mandate is to provide technical support to governments in Africa to develop viable and sustainable tobacco control policies, laws and strategies.
