Africa Hub a project under the Future Health Systems supported by DFID coordinated at Makerere University School of Public Health will be running a Regional Short Course in Health Systems Research from October 10-15, 2016

This course will benefit participants who are Health practitioners such as policy makers, researchers and trainers in both public and private sector and the media who share platforms that disseminate Public Health Information. Participants intending to enroll are invited to contact the course coordinator who shall provide them will an entry assessment form as well as other necessary documents.

FUNDAMENTALS OF SPIROMETRY TRAINING COURSE

The Makerere University Lung Institute (MLI) in collaboration with University of Washington will be conducting a comprehensive Spirometry training for health care workers involved in the care of patients with asthma and COPD, and with access to Spirometers.
The objective of this spirometry training is to increase the use of spirometry as a diagnostic tool for asthma and COPD. By the end of the training, participants will be able to perform high quality spirometry and also be able to independently interpret and critique spirometry results.

MASTERS TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES | CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

This program is currently soliciting for applications from suitably qualified Ugandans for Scholarships that will lead to the award of a health related MasterÔÇÖs degree in Basic Science (e.g. Physiology, Pharmacology, Human Anatomy, Biochemistry, Medical Illustration, Pathology, Immunology and Clinical Microbiology) and Master of Medicine (Pathology and Medical Microbiology) all tenable at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Makerere University. Funding for tuition will be available for a maximum of two academic years (Masters of Science) and three academic Years (Masters of Medicine). DOCTORAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES | Call for Applications

Makerere University College of Health Sciences, School of Biomedical Sciences (Uganda) in conjunction with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU, USA) have received a grant from the U.S. NIH - Fogarty International Center to train Ugandans in CWRUÔÇÖs Basic Science Training Program (BSTP - http://casemed.case.edu/bstp/index.php).
