Congenital Heart Disease (Truncus arteriosus) complicated with bronchopneumonia and Severe Acute Malnutrition; case report

AbstractTruncus  arteriosus  (TA)  is  a  rare  congenital  condition  that  occurs  as  a result of failed septation of a single arterial vessel rising from the heart during  embryological  development  into  the  pulmonary,  systemic  and coronary  circulations.  We  discuss  a  unique  case  of  a  6  months  old  female infant with unrepaired TA complicated with congestive cardiac failure (CCF), bronchopneumonia and severe malnutrition.
